In conjunction with the 9th International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks from July 4 to 7, 2017 in Milan, Italy.

For more information:

While mobile wireless network has been one of the most successful communication technologies for the last few decades, recent growth of smart device supply resulted in an explosive data traffic volume. In order to take advantage of such enormous connectivity, numerous applications are provided for the fourth generation (4G) networks, namely LTE-A. However, since LTE-A now has become mature,
researchers throughout the world is now focusing on 5G and future 6G technologies. The key demands for 5G/6G systems mainly discussed recently are 1) capabilities for supporting massive connectivity and capacity, 2) an increasingly miscellaneous kinds of user friendly applications and services in real-life, and 3) making best use of joint deployments in heterogeneous networks. These requirements bring a number of challenges for future wireless networks, including the capability of supporting diverse traffic characteristics, massive connectivity due to enormous number of devices (including MTC, IoT, etc.), and so on. According to these issues, the first International Workshop on 5G and 6G Mobile Communications was held in 2016 to bring researchers together to share their new solutions to future communication system. The second workshop will address a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art in technology and research advances for 5G/6G mobile communications, and will be a venue to brainstorm for identifying the emerging concepts, technologies, and analytical tools for future wireless networks. We also aim to provide the researchers from various backgrounds a forum to share their views on what 5G and 6G communications should be, and to have an open dialogue on the future of wireless research.

Suggested topics include but are not necessarily limited to the following.
– Multiple access technologies beyond OFDM(A)
– Multi-layered wireless networks for IoT connections
– Cognitive radio and dynamic spectrum access
– Small cell architecture for 5G/6G
– Millimeter and THz wave communications
– Green communications
– Energy harvesting technologies
– Higher-order massive MIMO deployment concepts
– Duplexing and synchronous transceiver
– Satellite and space communications
– MTC communications for numerous applications including smart city, home, transportation, and healthcare

All papers must be submitted electronically, in PDF format, and uploaded on EDAS. The direct link for paper submission is https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=22905&track=84449. There are two options for the submissions, either a full paper or a short paper.
We decided to allow the submission of short papers in order to accommodate the most recent research outcomes. The submissions should be formatted with single-spaced, double-column pages using at least 10 pt (or higher) size fonts on A4 or letter pages in IEEE style format. The maximum number of pages is 6 for full papers and 3 for short papers. Detailed formatting and submission instructions will be available on the conference web site (http://www.icufn.org).

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the workshop Program Committee and judged on originality, technicalcorrectness, relevance, and quality of presentation. All accepted papers will appear in the IEEE Xplore Digital library and will be indexed by Scopus and EI Compendex only if at least one of the authors registers at the full registration rate and attends to present the paper. Also extended versions of selected papers will be published in the following international journals as a special section for the ICUFN 2017.
